Did you know that when the Amish get engaged, the men don’t get down on one knee and there isn’t an engagement ring. They make their bride something they can use, such as a cedar chest. When they get married, they don’t exchange wedding rings. They rely on their word, and their faith, to show their commitment to one another and the outside world. I think that’s really inspiring.
